Very original atmospheric and creepy. Is is really hand drawn?

AmericanGutter responds:

you betcha ;)

Really funny. But isn't this a problem that Ralph died in the first episode of his series? :D

insanetoons responds:

He's like Kenny, alive and kicking again in the next episode ;)

Wow, what a great really original movie. The design of the spider is amazing :D

shycohardstuff responds:

Thanks!

Great work. I think the lack of voice acting actually added a lot to a movie. The animation was simple but good. Dark colors, shadows and lightning (like how the light drops on the couch when characters get back home), creates a really strong atmosphere. The only thing that kept me from giving this a 5 star rating was some things i did not understood in the story, but I was never very good in interpreting art :). Please, continue creating movies like this, looking forward to them in the future.

sadtape responds:

Thank you very much. Really nice to know some of those visual and atmospheric touches clicked with you. As much as I love the surreal and abstract, I still really like structured narratives, and I definitely hope to tell stories that can be followed, while maintaining some ambiguity.

This was great. You animations and music by ChristopherReeves goes hand in hand. I'm a fan.

jene-e-edwards responds:

Hey thanks so much! Means a lot :)

This was great. Simple, but very pleasant to watch. The joke was good too :). May I ask: what is the name of a piece of music that plays during the end credits?

This was incredible. Such a smooth animation and detailed sets. Loved it. Sometimes I do claymation videos myself and I have some questions for you. 1) What camera do you use and how do you achieve moving camera shots? I use a toy trolley set myself, but the results are nowhere near as smooth as yours. 2) What kind of clay do you use? Also, do you use professional armatures? 3) How many fps are you animating at? Thank you.

Twin-Tales responds:

Thank you for the kind words. We use the Canon Eos 550 D , Jovi plasticine and animating at 24 fps. On this film there are no armatures at all, but in other films we make our own armatures for the most part.

The moving camera shots here are very simple and basic. We just "animated" (moved) the camera on a couple of books, not the best way to do camera movements at all, but you got to work with what you've got. Although we just bought a new camera slider so the result will hopefully be even better in the future.

I saw your film "The Worst Bad Dream" a couple of months ago and really liked it, so keep up. :)

Wow, this was an absolute joy to watch. The music fits perfect with the visuals and the final product is something amazing. Wish it was longer. Are you planning to make more films like this?

jene-e-edwards responds:

Thanks so much! "Wish it was longer" Is an amazing compliment. And, yes we are! A new project is in the works.

Wow, that was awesome. From now on the white whale will haunt me too.

Interesting little claymation. Just wanted to give an advice: ALWAYS fasten every prop you have while animating. It is impossible to make sure that they will not move otherwise. You can be as careful as possible not to move them, but you always will. Trust me, I know :). I use double sided duct tape to secure everything in place. Big patches of it for things like furniture, etc and little patches for everything else. Just a tiny piece of double sided duct tape under the pot with the cactus would have made sure that it stays in place during the animation process. You can check out my claymations. They have little props and most of the time they stay in place when they need to :). Get better, it will be interesting to see your future claymations here for sure.

ClayDay responds:

That is great advice! I was getting frustrated with the cactus and thinking of how to secure it, I was first thinking glue, but double sided duct tape makes more sense! I will be sure to check out you videos! Thanks again for the advice djavh!
